Product & UX/UI design for complex software
I help software teams turn complex requirements into clear workflows, useful prototypes and interfaces ready to discuss with developers. I’m Lorenzo Rogante, a freelance Product Designer and Design Lead based in Italy, working remotely in English and Italian.
When the product needs a clearer structure
A growing B2B product can accumulate roles, data views and exceptions faster than its interface can explain them. I work with founders, product leads and developers on new products, substantial features and the redesign of existing experiences.
- B2B SaaS platforms with different roles and permissions.
- Dashboards that connect data exploration with a decision.
- AI-assisted products with clear review and intervention points.
- Operational tools where phase, status and next action must stay distinct.
What we can work on together
Product framing & UX architecture
Clarify the task, map entities and dependencies, organise information and define flows before committing to detailed screens.
Interaction & interface design
Make states, hierarchy and actions explicit. Create reusable components and responsive views that support the work people need to do.
Prototypes & delivery detail
Build prototypes in Figma to compare approaches, discuss behaviour and prepare the work for development. Resolve loading, empty, error and recovery states with the team.
Selected product design work
- AI Workflow Automation ↗
Connecting requests, quotes, orders and production without losing the original context.
- Customer Analytics ↗
Preserving selection and context as geographic exploration becomes a sales comparison.
- Manufacturing Operations ↗
Making the path from a supplier issue to an affected component and order understandable.
- Pricing Decision Support ↗
Keeping proposals, assumptions and operating conditions in the same investigation.
Portfolio interfaces are reconstructed with generic names and synthetic records. They illustrate design decisions; the figures are not measured project outcomes.
How we collaborate
- Understand the task. Discuss the product, users, available information and constraints.
- Make the structure tangible. Use flows, wireframes and prototypes to compare directions.
- Resolve the interface. Define hierarchy, components, behaviours and edge cases.
- Work through implementation. Review the intended experience with developers and refine the design as constraints become clearer.
Practical questions
Can you join an existing product team?
Yes. I can collaborate with an existing team on a defined project or an ongoing design scope. We agree on responsibilities, availability and deliverables before starting.
Do you develop the software?
This service covers product direction, UX/UI, prototypes and collaboration with development. Software implementation is a separate responsibility to define with your technical team.
What should I send first?
A short description of the product, the problem you want to address, its current stage and any timing constraints. Existing screens or a walkthrough can help frame the discussion.
